PERFORMANCES OF SOCCER COACHES WITH RESPECT TO THEIR LICENCE DEGREES AND TEAM’S LEAGUES: A RESEARCH ON TURKISH SOCCER COACHES

In this research, it is aimed to examine the team performances of Turkish soccer coaches regarding the league and licence level differences. 332 soccer coaches were voluntarily participated in this study. To demonstrate the team performance of the coaches, the data in Turkey Football Federation's official website were investigated with document analysis techniques. The analysis of the data obtained from the study was saved in SPSS. The differences between coaches from different groups were examined by t-test and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). To find out which group cause the difference when there is a difference between groups and the variants are equal, Tukey HSD test were used. Significant level was accepted as p<0.05. Findings have shown that coaches with UEFA Pro licenses have the highest team performances in all league categories. It’s determined that pro license owners have the highest scores on good team performance levels and the best team performance levels, also Class B license owners have the lowest scores. It’s found that success levels are to increase as the license levels gets higher. All coaches have had reached the highest team performances while they were working in the Regional Amateur Leagues. As a conclusion, low difficulty levels of the Regional Amateur Leagues comparing to the other leagues may be shown as the most important cause of coaches with Pro, A, B licenses reaching their best performances in the Regional Amateur Leagues.

Bu araştırma, Türk futbol antrenörlerinin takım performanslarının liglere ve lisans seviyelerine göre incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya 332 futbol antrenörü gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Antrenörlerin takım performanslarını belirleyebilmek için Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu’nun resmi web sitesindeki veriler doküman analizi tekniği ile incelenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen tüm veriler SPSS programında kaydedilmiştir. Farklı gruplardaki antrenörler arasındaki farklılıklar t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi ile (ANOVA) incelenmiştir. Gruplar arasında farklılık oluştuğu ve varyansların eşit olduğu durumlarda, farkın hangi gruplar arasında olduğunu bulabilmek için Tukey HSD analizleri kullanılmıştır. Anlamlılık düzeyi p<0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Bulgulara göre, UEFA Pro lisans sahibi antrenörler çalıştıkları tüm lig kategorilerinde en yüksek takım performans puanına sahiptirler. Pro lisans sahibi antrenörlerin hem iyi hem de çok iyi düzey takım performansı açısından en yüksek, B lisans antrenörlerin ise en düşük yüzdeye sahip oldukları ve lisans seviyeleri arttıkça başarı düzeylerinin de arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, tüm antrenörler en yüksek takım performanslarına Bölgesel Amatör Ligde ulaşmışlardır. Sonuç olarak, Pro lisans, A lisans ve B lisans sahibi antrenörlerin en yüksek takım performanslarına Bölgesel Amatör Ligde ulaşmalarının en önemli unsuru olarak Bölgesel Amatör Ligdeki maçların zorluk derecesinin diğer lig seviyelerine göre daha düşük olmasından kaynaklandığını söyleyebiliriz.
